Registering an iPhone

Before accepting payments, connect the StewardPay app to your ministry's Giving account. Registration confirms that the iPhone is authorized to handle transactions for your ministry and ensures payments are directed to the correct account and appear in your reports.

What You'll Need

  • The iPhone that you want to register.
  • The StewardPay app installed on the iPhone.
  • Giving Admin access to Device Settings (get there by clicking the gear icon)

Register Your Device

These steps are time-sensitive, so be sure you have access to both your Giving site and the iPhone being registered.

  1. Open the StewardPay app on the iPhone. On first launch, the app displays a registration code that identifies this device.

  2. Sign in to Giving Admin, click the gear icon at the top-right corner, and select Device Settings.

Important: If you do not see Device Settings, your giving account may lack permission for that section. On the manager permission page, click the Organization > Device Settings checkbox.

  3. Click the Register Device button.

  4. Enter the registration code shown in the StewardPay app into the registration field in Giving, give the device a nickname, then click the Register Device button

  6. Return to the StewardPay app. You will see a message saying the device is connected. Click Continue to enter the user's PIN number.

Unregister / Delete Device

On the Device Settings page, click the delete icon next to the device you would like to delete.

Registration links the device to your ministry but does not grant a person access. Each user signs in with their own six-digit PIN, and no data is stored on the phone—it passes through securely. Registering a device and creating a user are separate steps. See Managing Users and PIN Access.
