Use the New Sale flow in StewardPay to collect a payment. Amounts are entered manually, and only one fund is active per session. This article walks through a complete sale from tapping New Sale to handing the phone to the payer for confirmation.
What You'll Need
- The StewardPay app installed and registered on an iPhone
- A user logged in (using their PIN)
- The Fund and Administrative Fee configured for this session
- The total amount owed. StewardPay does not itemize or calculate totals, so work out the amount first — for example, two shirts at $6 each is $12.
Process a New Sale
-
Tap New Sale.
-
The active fund for the session is displayed.
- Enter the total amount manually using the on-screen keypad.
- If the transaction is tax-deductible, be sure to check the checkbox.
- Tap the Continue button.
-
Ask the payer if they want to cover the administrative fee, then set the fee option accordingly. The screen now shows the total and a breakdown for the payer. Tap the Tap to Pay on iPhone button.
-
After a moment, the app will be ready for payment. Present the phone for the tap payment. The user should hold their credit card over the iPhone screen.
-
When the payment completes, the iPhone will vibrate and play a tone. You will see a Payment Successful screen. Tap Continue.
-
Enter the payer's First Name, Last Name, Email Address, and, optionally, Phone Number, for them to receive a receipt. Filling out the payer information will also ensure the payment is included on their year-end contribution statement.
You can tap Cancel to skip the receipt step, but the payment will be recorded as anonymous.
-
When the Receipt Form is submitted, you will see a Receipt Sent message. Tap Done to return to the home screen, where you can begin another New Sale.
