Announcing StewardPay, a Point of Sale iPhone App!

StewardPay by Ministry Brands is a staff-operated point-of-sale app that helps your team accept in-person payments with care. It’s included with our Giving solution, so it’s there when you need it. Your staff and volunteers can use tap-to-pay on a supported mobile device to accept payments, from Wednesday night suppers to bake sales to special events and more. In an increasingly cashless world, StewardPay gives your team a simple, in-person way to welcome every payment with the same care you bring to your ministry.

To get started, you need:

  • An NFC-enabled iPhone. iPhone 11 and newer models have the required hardware.
  • Access to Device Settings (get there by clicking the gear icon)
  • A Wi-Fi or cellular connection on the iPhone

Note: StewardPay is available only on iPhone.

No Extra Hardware Required

StewardPay uses the iPhone's built-in NFC to accept tap payments, so there’s nothing else to buy or keep charged. Payers tap a contactless card or a mobile wallet directly on the phone.

Take a Payment in a Few Taps

  1. Tap New Sale
  2. Enter the sale total on the iPhone
  3. If appropriate, mark the sale tax-deductible
  4. The payer holds the payment method up to your iPhone

The app also gives the payer the option to cover the administrative fee.

Receipts and Automatic Payer Matching

After making a payment, you can enter the payer's name, email address, and optionally, their phone number to send them a receipt and link their donation or payment to their donor profile. A new record is created if no matching record exists.

Void a Transaction Before It Settles

Noticed a mistake? The user can void a recent payment. The void stops the payment before the processor handles it, so act quickly.

Access for Staff and Volunteers

StewardPay users don't need full Giving accounts. A Giving administrator can easily grant or revoke user access.

StewardPay Reporting in Giving

StewardPay transactions are incorporated into your current Giving reports. Each payment details the fund, amount, and donor/payer.
